Gonçalves,Luana M.; Ferraz,Gabriel A. e S.; Oliveira,Marcelo S. de; Barbosa,Brenon D. S.; Silva,Carlos J. da; Ferraz,Patrícia F. P..
ABSTRACT Noise is one of the harmful and stressful physical agents present in the workplace. Research performed with geostatistics to adjust the semivariogram of tractor noise were performed using the Gaussian and spherical model. In this way, the aim was to map the spatial variability of the noise emitted by a power tiller through the sine wave model, besides testing other fitting methods, in order to identify health zones for the workers. The experiment was performed with an agricultural power tiller (10.3 kW) placed in a working regime (1500 rpm), coupled to a brushcutter, and a digital sound level meter to collect noises in points distributed along a regular grid sampling of 2.0 × 2.0 m around the tractor. The spatial dependence of noise was analyzed...

Discovering the physical onerous activities in manual sesame grain harvest using postural analysis CIGR Journal
Hayati, Abdullah; Marzban, Afshin; Leylizadeh, Masoud.
The sesame oil is accounted as high-priced and high-quality oil, but its production is less than that of major oilseeds due to labor-intensive harvest similar to many agricultural activities. These types of activities are often onerous leading the workers to occupational risk factors such as musculoskeletal disorders. Thus, the aim of this study was to evaluate the manual sesame grain harvest (consisting of work tasks of mowing, tying and shaking) regarding postural workloads to identify onerous activities during this operation which would help to mitigate some problems of the sesame grain production chain. Ovako Working posture Analysis System (OWAS) was used for working posture analysis of twenty-six male workers employed for this study. Results showed...

ECONOMIC ANALYSIS OF DIFFERENT HYDRAULIC SPRAYERS USED IN SUGARCANE (Saccharum spp.) REA
Santos,Neisvaldo B. dos.
ABSTRACT Brazil is the largest sugarcane producer worldwide. In mills, sugarcane crops are sprayed with agrochemicals using self-propelled, tractor-driven, and aerial hydraulic sprayers. As sugarcane spraying is regularly performed over extensive areas, the machinery to be used should be planned and dimensioned to ensure timely operations without overloading and at lower costs. Therefore, the current study aimed to analyze the operational and economic performances of different hydraulic sprayers to perform sugarcane crop control. As long as meeting our goal in field conditions would be difficult, we opted to develop a computational model, named as “TratoCana”, using a spreadsheet and programming language. The model was used to assess economic and...

Estimation of the lifespan of agricultural tractor using a diffusion model at the aggregate level Ciencia e Investigación Agraria
Muñoz,Ricardo; Llanos,José.
The adoption of agricultural tractors by farms has resulted in different combinations, relationships and established ways of production of localities, regions and countries. The dynamics of the tractorization process are defined by the balance of the units that enter the fleet and those that are removed at the end of their useful life. This study uses a diffusion pattern and aggregated adoption of the agricultural tractor, the parameters of which were determined using a nonlinear estimation procedure and country-level data for Chile. Using the predictive power of the model, a longitudinal series of tractor fleets was estimated, and then the balance was calculated considering the units that were discharged. To more accurately determine the average lifespan...

Evaluation of five traction models for agricultural tractors in Colombia CIGR Journal
Castillo, Bernardo.
The behavior of traction devices of agricultural tractors has been modeled by analytical techniques and through the use of empirical equations, the latter methodology has shown good results and numerous applications. This article presented the evaluation of four empirical traction models and one semi-empirical in order to establish the model that best fit to Colombian agricultural soil mechanization and to propose a tool that better assess the traction behavior of tractors in the field. Taking into account all terrains conditions evaluated, the model that best adjusted was the Gee-Clough and collaborators model and it was possible to explain the 90% of the draft forces measured. Also the model of Evans and others, using improved prediction coefficients of...

IDENTIFICATION AND QUANTIFICATION OF FACTORS AFFECTING THE OPERATIONAL CAPACITY OF SUGAR CANE HARVESTERS REA
Silva,João P. de L.; Ralisch,Ricardo; Saab,Otávio J. G. Abi.
ABSTRACT Several studies determined the theoretical and effective capacity of sugarcane harvesters. However, in field conditions, some variables affect sugarcane production and their effect on machine productivity is difficult to measure. The objective of this study is to analyze the correlation of the operational capacity of sugarcane harvesters with property size, sugarcane yield, total operation time of harvesters, and lost productive time. This correlation will be used to construct models that estimate machine capacity under different working conditions. Harvest data were collected from 41 farms with different sizes and rates of productivity, with the harvesting of 412,207 tons of sugarcane by eight harvesters. Property size was the variable that, in...

Banchi,Ângelo D.; Garcia,Angel P.; Albiero,Daniel; Galvão,Cezário B.; Favarin,Luis G. A..
ABSTRACT Recently, Brazilian agriculture and the mechanization process have been improved and developed, particularly in sugarcane cultivation. The developed processes should adopt suitable management practices in terms of the technical, economic, and operational logistical aspects. As a management tool, the present study aimed to measure the impact of the accumulated use of harvesters (life in h) and agricultural productivity (Mg · ha−1) on the harvesting operational capacity (HOC). Mathematical modeling was performed on data obtained from eight sugarcane production units, and equations corresponding to the HOC as a function of the harvester's life and the crop agricultural productivity were developed. The equation that best represented the phenomenon was...

INFLUENCE OF OPERATIONAL CONDITIONS OF MECHANIZED HARVESTING ON SUGARCANE LOSSES AND IMPURITIES REA
Martins,Murilo B.; Ruiz,Daniel.
ABSTRACT Operational conditions of mechanized harvesting can affect the quality of harvested sugarcane. Therefore, the aim of this study was to assess the influence of the displacement speed and cutting height on the quality of the raw material during the mechanized harvest of sugarcane. Vegetable losses were accounted for in the field by manual collection of the fractions left after harvest. Vegetable and mineral impurities were determined at the processing stage in the laboratory. Both the displacement speed and cutting height did not affect vegetable losses. However, the increase in vegetal impurities occurred at higher displacement speeds, whereas lower cutting heights resulted in higher amounts of mineral impurities.
